Abstract
From a female (kezia type) of Hypolimnas bolina LINNAEUS captured on August 13, 1971 at Tsushima Islands, Japan, 945 eggs were obtained from August 21 to September 15, 1971. On these eggs, longitudinal ridge number was counted in each ovipositing date respectively, and its results are shown in Table 1. The longitudinal ridge number varies from 9 to 13, and in the latter period of ovipositing, the number is apparently decreased (Table 2, Fig. 1).
