Abstract
The present paper deals with new subspecies of Simiskina phalena Hewitson, Dacalana sannio Hewitson, Hypothecla astyla Felder, Sinthusa nasaka Horsfield and Sinthusa privata Fruhstorfer. All the holotypes are to be preserved in the Osaka Museum of Natural History. Before going further, I acknowledge my sincere gratitude to Mr. Isamu Hiura in the above- mentioned Museum for giving me the opportunity to study the material, and Mr. Yasuzo Honda for his great efforts at collecting butterflies in Palawan.
