Abstract
Japanese species of the genus Anarsia are revised. The monophyly of the genus is supported by 3 synapomorphies. Seven species are dealt with: 2 species, A. incerta and A. silvosa, are described as new to science; A. tortuosa (Meyrick), comb. n. is transferred from Chelaria. A. protensa, A. bimaculata and A. tortuosa are recorded from Japan for the first time. The true female of A. protensa is described. Adults, wing venations and genitalia of both sexes are illustrated.
