Parnassius (Lepidoptera, Papilionidae) in perpetuity : the ghost of collections past

Abstract

Using Parnassius butterflies as an example, the British Museum collection circa 1856 is reconstituted with particular reference to the contributions made by the significant collectors and benefactors.
