Seasonal occurrence of the snout butterfly, Libythea celtis celtoides Fruhstorfer (Lepidoptera, Libytheidae), in southwestern Kyoto Prefecture, central Japan

Abstract

Seasonal occurrence of adults of Libythea celtis celtoides Fruhstorfer was investigated in two places in southwestern Kyoto Prefecture from May, 2000 to May, 2002. The results show that this species has a univoltine life cycle in the study sites, and five phases were recognized in seasonal adult activity.
