Abstract

Two new species of the genus Dasysphecia Hampson, 1919, both striking mimics of bumble bees (Hymenoptera), are described from the Fansipan Mts in northern Vietnam. Dasysphecia bombylina Arita & Kallies, sp.n. is similar to the type species of the genus, Dasysphecia bombyliformis (Rothschild, 1911), but differs clearly by its smaller size and details of the colouration. Dasysphecia ursina Kallies & Arita, sp.n. cannot be confused with any other Sesiidae. It is unique by its large size and its uniformly brown and hairy body. The genus Dasysphecia is transferred from the tribe Sesiini to Cissuvorini and its systematic position is discussed.
