Infertility of artificial interspecific hybrids of Neptis pryeri and N. rivularis(Lepidoptera, Nympharidae)

Abstract

Interspecific hybridization between Neptis pryeri and N. rivularis and back crossing of these F1 hybrids were carried out by the hand pairing method. Neither male nor female adult F1 individuals could reproduce, suggesting that F1 hybrids of the two species have no fertility.
