The larva of Metrernis sp. (Tortricidae, Chlidanotinae) fed on the fruits of Symplocos sawafutagi Nagam. (Symplocaceae)

Abstract

In Hyogo Prefecture, the first author, K. Sakagami, found some fruits of Symplocos sawafutagi Nagam. (Symplocaceae) damaged by lepidopteran larvae. These larvae were reared, and a male adult of Metrernis sp. of Nasu (2013) (Tortricidae, Chlidanotinae) emerged from these fruits. This is the first record of the host plant of Metrernis sp. of Nasu (2013).
