Five species of Steniini (Lepidoptera, Crambidae, Spilomelinae) reared using a commercial artificial diet

Abstract

The tribe Steniini represents a distinctive clade within Spilomelinae in which most species are detritivores. However, the immature stages have been reported for only a few. In this study, we reared five species of Steniini, whose immature stages were previously unknown, using a commercial artificial diet. We provide descriptions of the immature stages, along with their feeding habits and developmental periods.
