First report on the larval biology of Semnostola shimizui (Tortricidae, Olethreutinae), with the first record from Kyushu, Japan

Abstract

The host plant and larval biology of Semnostola shimizui Nasu, 2022 (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) are reported for the first time. A single larva was discovered boring in a leaf bud of Kadsura japonica (L.) Dunal (Schisandraceae) in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. This is the first reported host plant for the genus Semnostola.
