Abstract
We have been developing high-power, high-efficiency laser diodes (LD) for pumping the structural figure fiber laser. Coexisting of a high beam quality and high power is demanded of the excitation of the fiber laser. For this purpose, we developed the laser diodes structure, and high efficiency heat sink and special optics. We achieved to fabricate the LD modules with over 100 W output power, over 50 % efficiency, and beam quality of 15 mm·mrad (fast axis)×640 mm·mrad (slow axis). At HOYA corporation, using these modules CW 1 kW output of the fiber laser was achieved.
