Abstract
By introducing synchronously pulsed-laser and modulated-reactive plasma, we generate highly-nonequilibrium and nonlinear-thermodynamical states of matter, through which new self-organized states and/or new orders of matter can be realized. New type of BN films with sp3-bonds and self-organized emitter shaped morphologies were thus grown, and they proved to show excellent properties such as UV emission and electron field emission that is superior to those of carbon nanotubes. We fabricated prototype light-emitting devices successfully and illustrated its potentialities to future applications.
