Research in laser medicine and photobiology is developed as the new diagnostic and treatment methods. Two specific areas in which I would like to develop applications are photodynamic therapy and regulation of cells function by laser technology. The mechanisms of such reactions differ greatly depending on the laser used, cell characteristics, and other experimental parameters. My research goals are to develop applied optical technologies to biology that are non-invasive to living organisms and that can replace genetic engineering and medications. A second goal is to use optical technologies to non-invasively control homeostasis in cells and living organisms by targeting photoreceptors that are always present in cells. While some of my research projects may not yield results, or results that may not be easily explained, I am conducting my research one small step at a time, looking for new discoveries and breakthroughs that will slowly but surely open the windows to the future.
