Abstract
Electromagnetic waves of frequency in a range about 0.1 THz ~ 10 THz are called Terahertz wave and
are expected to be used in various areas, though the current use is mostly limited to radio astronomy. In
this special issue, recent advancements in the sensing technologies using Terahertz wave are reviewed
focusing on their use not only in scientific research areas but also in our real world society.
