Abstract
To design advanced solar cells with high performance, both the surface and interface structures of multimaterials are key issues. The surface structure on materials might be produced by the interaction with short laser pulses. The recent remarkable developments of femtosecond laser technologies are opening new aspects in the physics of laser-matter interactions and laser applications. These phenomena are especially distinguished in laser material interactions, which are never seen in nanosecond laser interactions. For femtosecond laser ablation, we observed an extremely small amount of ablation (less than a nanometer depth) even with a rather low laser fluence, resulting in discriminative morphology in/ on the material surface. To consider surface structuring on materials, we reviewed the recent progress of solar cells controlled by the surface and interface structures of multi-materials.
