A reliable, microcomputer-controlled nitrogen laser was developed, as a pumping source of a tunable dye laser for industrial analytical spectrometry. Long-term maintenance-free operation was attained by the use of internal gas circulation, automatic ga exchange, and output stabilization. TEA laser action with a gas mixture of He/N2 made the gas exchange easy. The output power was 400 kW, and the maximum repetition rate was 60 Hz.
