Abstract
Multiphoton absorption (MPA) and multiphoton dissociation (MPD) experiments are reported for the C2ClF5/O2 system. The MPD experiment with a focused non-uniform non-Gaussian beam yields a smaller reaction volume than that with a transversely uniform beam. With the mathema-tical model we developed, this difference is explained quantitatively over a wide range of fluences.
