Abstract
Edlén's equation which is available for determining the refractive index of air around 20°C in lengtn measurement, was experimentally studied in the temperature range from 20°C to 60°C. The experiment were made by using a fringe-counting He-Ne laser interferometer and meteorolo-gical sensors. The difference between the air refractive indices derived from the interferometer and Edlen's equation was estimated to be about 2×10-6 at an air temperature of 60°C.
