After a brief historical review on injection locking of TEA CO2 lasers, it is shown that the in-jection locking scheme with a pulsed injection source is a useful method to obtain monochromatic or power-modulated high-power outputs with long pulse durations (-μs). Details of the newly developed laser system are presented together with experimental results and computer simulations. Various feedback loops are incorporated in the laser system to assure reliable operation. Some applications of the laser outputs so obtained are also mentioned.
