Abstract
A Ti : sapphire laser is a tunable, high power, ultrashort laser which can be applied to various researches such as high-order harmonic generation, hot dense plasma generation etc. The recent results of Ti : sapphire and Cr : LiSAF were summarized. The details of a Ti : sapphire laser system, which is now being developed in our instiute, is described with the preliminary results of harmonic generation.
