Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine research trends on cancer and suicide in Japan using text mining. Journal articles on the topic of cancer and suicide published in Ichushi-Web(1978-2022) were included. Text Mining Studio 6.3.0 was used for analysis. Analysis methods included descriptive statistics, publication year, word frequency analysis, and feature word analysis. The analysis was divided into two groups by year (pre-2007 and post-2008). Pre-2007, there were more studies of suicide in cancer cells and genes (p < .001), but post-2008, there were more studies of suicide in patients with cancer (p < .001). This result may be due to the introduction of the Comprehensive Suicide Prevention Program in 2007, which emphasized the relationship between suicide and mental health.
