Effective Derivatization of Phenylalanine, Tyrosine and Related Compounds in Negative Ion Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometry

Various kinds of derivatizations of phenylalanine, tyrosine and the related compounds were investigated for detectability enhancement in NICIMS. For this purpose, certain kinds of fluorinated reagents were used, and the effective derivatizations of these compounds were established. The NICIMS using these derivatization seems to be very useful for not only in ultra-micro analysis but also in tracer experiments using stable isotope-labeled compounds.
