A study on a flexible channel multiplier made of electron conductive polymer is reported. The tubemolded by extruding the material through a die under proper temperature and pressure. The secondary electron. emission ratioδ of the material used is about 2.5 at 200 eV in primary electron energy. The multiplier was operated in counting mode for investigating the gain and the deterioration. From thestudy on the gain distribution by means of a pulse height analyzer the most appropriate value of theaccelerating voltage has been found to be3000V. At this voltage the gain up to2.5×108 can be expected. It has been proved that this multiplier is also applicable to a photon counter in vacuum ultravioletregion.
