Abstract
Electrical resistivity, magnetic susceptibility and heat of mixing of liquid silver-germanium alloys were measured over a wide range of concentration and temperature. It was found that in the high silver concentration range there is a small anomaly in their concentration dependence which is similar to that for some other liquid noble metal alloys. Such an anomaly was found in the temperature coefficients of electrical resistivity and magnetic susceptibility. These experimental results are discussed in terms of two factors, the electronegativity and the atomic radius, with reference to the effect of Hume-Rothery type electron compounds.
