Abstract
The paper reports the results of studies of structure of liquid Sn-0.5 wt%Fe alloy with the help of the centrifuging technique and shows that structurally the liquid state of tin rich alloys essentially consists of a dispersion of pseudocompound clusters of SnxFey in a matrix of monatomic atoms. Studying the effect of magnetic field on solidification, it is concluded that these clusters retain magnetic properties which characterize them in the solid state.
