Abstract
Crystal structures and magnetic properties of the compounds Pt1−xAuxMnSb have been investigated by means of X-ray diffraction and magnetic analysis, respectively. It has been found that the lattice parameters of the pseudo-ternary compounds increase with increasing Au concentration. The magnetic moment per Mn atom in these compounds has a maximum value of 4.30 μB at x=0.6. It has been also presumed from the results of Curie temperature measurements that the magnetic interaction Pt1−xAuxMnSb may be closely related to the density of valence electrons rather than the lattice parameter.
