The effect of a magnetic field on atomic diffusion has been studied for nickel diffusion in titanium. Both for α- and β-phases, no significant difference between the diffusivities parallel and perpendicular to the field direction has been detected in the magnetic field of 4 T. This contrasts with the result by Youdelis et al. on Al/Al-3%Cu couples, in which a 25% decrease in the diffusivity was found in the magnetic field of 3 T.
