Four deep drawing steels containing different quantities of sol. Al were heat-treated laboratorially under a similar condition to that of hot-rolling strip-mill and N and C precipitates were examined by the internal friction method and chemical analysis. The results were as follows: (1) The finishing temperature had little effect on precipitation. (2) The higher the sol. Al content and coiling temperature, the larger were the precipitations of N and C. (3) N and C dissolved interstitially is less than expected from chemical analysis. (4) The precipitation N promotes that of C. With these results, the mechanism of formation of elongated recrystallized grains was discussed.
