Abstract

Nickel electrodeposition was carried out in Ethylene Glycol (EG) solution using chloride and sulphate baths. The physical properties and structure of the deposits under different plating conditions have been studied. Nickel deposits free of cracks and porosity with sound physical properties have been obtained. Transmission electron microscopic examination revealed some interesting results with respect to dislocation, texture and twinning in the nickel deposits. The microhardness variation with bath temperature and annealing temperature has been studied. Influence of interrupted direct current also has been investigated.
