The infinitesimal-deformation approach was applied to analyze the crystallography involved in cubic (tetragonal) to monoclinic martensitic transformations. Using the same basic concepts as in the finite-deformation-based phenomenological crystallographic theories of martensitic transformations, crystallographic solutions for habit plane orientation, orientation relationships between parent and martensite phases, etc. were obtained in a simple and analytical manner. The derived solutions were numerically compared with those obtained from the phenomenological analysis and excellent agreement between the two solutions was found.
