A synthesis solution containing fluoride ion was developed to prepare silicalite-1 membrane. Pervaporation performance of the resulting membrane was measured with 5 wt% of ethanol aqueous solution at 60 ℃. The membrane prepared with HF as fluoride source exhibited high ethanol selectivity and good long-term stability. The flux and separation factor were kept at 0.76 kg・m–2・h–1 and 92 after 100 h, respectively. However, the other fluoride sources such as NaF and NH4F were no help to improve the performance of silicalite-1 membrane.
