Abstract
Our group is investigating synthesis and application of metal complex lipids for manipulating lipid membrane properties. Metal complex lipid has a metal complex moiety as its hydrophilic head part and alkyl chain as its hydrophobic tail part. It shows different physical properties from natural phospholipid species, impacting lipid membrane properties. We have reported the curvature and viscosity controls of lipid supramolecular assemblies by means of a metal complex lipid. Now we demonstrate a construction of architectures as well as an artificial phase separation system in the living cell membranes.
