Soft interfacial membranes, such as insoluble and adsorbed films at fluid/fluid interfaces and surface films of organized bodies such as micelles and vesicles in solutions, were studied using thermodynamics and structure analysis methods. The thermodynamic state, phase transitions and miscibility of surfactant molecules of interfacial films were examined and reviewed them from the viewpoints of so–called space–time hierarchy. The wetting at air/water surfaces and line tension were also mentioned.
