Preparation of enzyme, e. g., alkaline phosphatase, superoxide dismutase, loading liposomes by freeze-thawing and dehydration-rehydration vesicle methods are discussed to minimize the deactivation during the process and to maximize the entrapment into the liposomes with additive such as sugar, protein, water-soluble polymer. Size control of liposome by filtration with a polycarbonate membrane and stabilities of powdered liposome during storage are focused to clear the requirements to use the liposome as a practical dosage form. Preparation of proliposome in an aqueous system is proposed as a novel alternative form of liposome for industrialization.
