Abstract
Cellulose triacetate (CTA) has been applied as membrane material for hemodialysis. Substituting OH group of cellulose by acetate improves membrane biocompatibility such as complement activation and transient leukopenia. In this study, we developed high flux CTA hemodialysis membrane, by controlling spinning and phase separation conditions. This membrane shows good clinical improvement, because of its superior removal capability for low molecular weight proteins as well as for small molecules.
