Abstract
The cohesion sand filtration is usually done as the pretreatment for the sea water desalination.Recently, the sea water pretreatment by various MF membranes and the OF membranes has been developed as an alternative technology of the cohesion sand filtration. This report describes the sea water processing experiment by the MF membranes (polyethylene, polypropylene, polyacrylonitrile) of follow fiber type and the OF membranes (cellulose acetate, polysulfone) of the spiral type. Furthermore, the experiments on the RO sea water desalination using sea water pretreated by a spiral type membrane.
