Abstract
Twelve species of black flies including two new and one newly recorded species were collected from Palawan Island, the Philippines. Simulium (Gomphostilbia) babuyanense sp. nov. and S. (G.) bataksense sp. nov. are described from one male and one female each reared from the pupa, respectively. The male of S. (G.) mangasepi Takaoka and the female of S. (S.) latistylum Takaoka are described for the first time. Simulium (Wallacellum) tuyense Takaoka is recorded for the first time from Palawan Island.
