A view of Murasaki no Ue, who is described as having died twice. Her apparent death was death, and a plot to prolong her life. This period was four years, and when considering that it parallels the time until she "became a woman," I believe it to be a time where she sublimated beyond her individual existence to carry the whole world of the monogatari. To support this, Murasaki imagines herself like the "Silent Prince" (Mugon Taishi) in the "Yugiri" chapter, which harmonizes with the Kiritsubo Emperor being "without offense" (ayamatsu koto nashi) in the "Akashi" chapter. Also, expressions relating to Murasaki no Ue's "death" are the same as those relating to Fujitsubo's "death."
