Continuing from the article, "Japanese Idea of Kami and Soul, " published in the foregoing issue of the present journal, the two pioneer Volkskundler of Japan discuss the characteristics and contributions of Japanese Volkskunde during the past 30 years, as well as its tasks and problems for the future. Some fundamental problems of methodology are also discussed, especially concerning the division and coilaboration between Volkskunde and Volkerkunde (or comparative ethnology).
