Study or Depth Profiling of Chemical anc Mechanical Properties of Degraded Polycvrbonate

Abstract

SAICAS (Surface and Interfacial Cutting Analysis System) and micro-beam FTIR (Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy) studies were carried out on polycarbonate molded blocks before and after durability tests. It was confirmed that the mechanical properties and the molecular structures of the layers within 1 μm from the surface are detectable by the analytical technique.
