We propose a method to improve the decay response time of polymer network thick-film liquid crystal devices used in reflectarrays for millimeter-wave applications while suppressing the increase in drive voltage. We have shown that the fast decay response controllable at 30 V in conventional thin-film transistors can be achieved in thick-film liquid crystals by heat treatment after or during UV exposure. The fastest device had a decay response time of less than 1/42 compared to a thick-film liquid crystal-only device.
