Abstract
In this paper, Cartesian grid method for incompressible viscous fluid flows is investigated. New grid structure based on the Cartesian grids and cut cells, which fitted to the boundaries of body are generated. The Finite Volume Method (FVM) is used for calculations of the Navier-Stokes equations and the continuity equation. Cavity flows and flows around a stationary circular cylinder in a uniform flow are calculated by the present method and compared with the results that obtained by previous method. It is also shown that the new grid system can be applied to the complex geometry problems.
