Structural design records are as important as architectural design records, especially when discussing modern and contemporary architecture in Japan. It is necessary to properly inherit these records so that they will not be lost or scattered. On the other hand, structural design is more digitalized than architectural design, and because these born-digital records come in a variety of formats, they need to be managed properly. Therefore, we have studied specific methods and issues for constructing digital archives of structural design records from technical and legal aspects. This paper presents an overview of the study.
