This is a Japanese translation and commentary of the Latin letters between Descartes and Beeckman written in 1630 & 1634. In two letters in 1630, Descartes criticized Beeckman vehemently, because the latter seemed to have boasted of teaching young Descartes to write the Compendium Musicae. But even if it may be true, Descartes' debt to Beeckman was too great to justify such an outrageous reaction.
