Abstract

A total of 184 species of bryophytes are reported from the Bessyo and Minami-Osawa areas, western part of Tokyo Metropolitan on the basis of around 670 specimens collected. Campylopus gemmiparus is newly found from Tokyo. There has recognized three rare species (Aneura gemmifera, Leptodontium pergemmascens, Orthotrichum erubescens), two endangered species (Riccia fluitans and Taxiphyllum alternans) and two northern species (Calliergonella cuspidate, Leptodictyum humile)in this area.
