A total of 212 species of mosses and liverworts were recognized from around 850 specimens collected from areas west of Lake Ashinoko, Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Taxa of phytogeographic interest include Amphidium mougeotii, Barbella fl agellifera, Barbula horrinervis, Campylostelium saxicola, Diphyscium lorifolium , Glyphomitrium minutissimum and Neodicradiella pendula in mosses, and Bazzania bidentula, Schiffneria hyalina, and Radula cavifolia in liverworts.
