Abstract

The contents of the research that the authors have performed to toughen the phenolic resin were described in the method of controlling the chemical structure of the resin using various raw materials or modifiers and in the method of controlling the structure of the composite by adding the filler. As methods of controlling the chemical structure of the phenol resin by using various raw materials or modifiers, two kinds of methods were introduced. (1) bonding distance between phenolic nucleus was made longer than the length of methylene bond of the general phenolic resin. (2) thermoplastic resins having a low elastic modulus were added to the phenolic resin to control the dispersion structure of modifiers. In addition, as a method of controlling the structure of the composite by adding a filler, three kinds of methods were introduced. (1) crushed end material or punching scraps generated at the time of manufacturing a printed circuit board were used. (2) artificial zeolite made from fly ash was used. (3) organized montmorillonite was used as filler for nanocomposite.
