Abstract
For issues of energy crisis and global environmental pollution by greenhouse gases, polymers based on renewable resources have become increasingly important, contributing to building sustainable society. This review mainly deals with recent development of bio-based thermoplastics and thermosetting polymers. Practical issues of poly(lactic acid), new biomass plastics, production of common plastics from biomass as well as network polymers based on plant oils and other renewable resources are mentioned.
