Abstract
In 1907, phenol resin was invented by Dr. Leo H. Beakeland, and it is used for many uses. Then, various technologies were developed, so the use of phenol resin has been partly replaced by thermoplastic resins and metals. But phenol resin is used in many fields where the original characteristics are required. I described here the properties and newly developed use of phenolic resin.
