Abstract
Referring to the paper of N. J. L. Megson (1933, J. Soc Chem. Ind.) who asserts that the ortho-para-substiaution theory is not the only theory which can explain the phenol-formaldehyde resinification reaction, the meta-substitution theory (1942) and the phenolic hydroxy-group reaction theory (1947) of C. A. Redfarn and the very interesting discussions by M. Koebner, Megson, B. Oom, M. H. Nickerson and H. S. Lilley are translated from British Plastics (1947).
